Alabama

Davis Ferry (autos): crosses Alabama River, on CR 40 between Franklin and Packards Bend; free; weekdays only, 7am-4pm; no trailers or RVs. (Monroe County)

Dauphin Island (?) Ferry (autos): across Pelican Bay (Mobile Bay entrance), between Fort Morgan (SR 180) and Fort Gaines/Dauphin Island (CR 2); daily except Christmas; car and driver $8, pedestrian $1. (Baldwin and Mobile Counties)

Bridgeport Ferry (autos): Crosses Tennessee River southeast of Bridgeport on CR 91. (Jackson County)

Alaska

Note: prices reflect summer 1997; auto assumes small car with one adult; all prices are one-way.

Homer-Kodiak (autos): through Cook Inlet and Gulf of Alaska to Kodiak Island; connections to SR 1 (Sterling Highway) and Kodiak Highway; M/V Tustumena; 9 hr 30 min (at least twice a week); minimum pedestrian charge $48, minimum auto charge $112.

Homer-Port Lions (autos): through Cook Inlet and Gulf of Alaska to Kodiak Island; connection to SR 1 (Sterling Highway); M/V Tustumena; 10 hr (about once a week); minimum pedestrian charge $48, minimum auto charge $112.

Homer-Seldovia (autos): across Kachemak Bay; connections to S-434 (Seldovia-Jakolof Bay Road) and SR 1 (Sterling Highway); M/V Tustumena; 1 hr 30 min (most days); minimum pedestrian charge $18, minimum auto charge $37.

Hyder-Ketchikan (autos): along Portland Canal and Revillagigedo Channel to Revillagigedo Island; connection to BC 37A; M/V Aurora; 9 hr 45 min (Tuesday only); minimum pedestrian charge $40, minimum auto charge $90.

Ketchikan-Hollis (autos): across Clarence Strait to Prince of Wales Island; M/V Aurora; 2 hr 45 min (daily); minimum pedestrian charge $20, minimum auto charge $46.

Kodiak-Port Lions (autos): through Narrow Strait; connection to Kodiak Highway; M/V Tustumena; 2 hr 30 min (about once a week); minimum pedestrian charge $20, minimum auto charge $45.

Seward-Chenega Bay-Valdez (no autos?): through Prince William Sound; M/V Tustumena; available only on request (Thursday)

Seward-Kodiak (autos): through Gulf of Alaska to Kodiak Island; connections to SR 9 and Kodiak Highway; M/V Tustumena; 13 hr 15 min (about once a week); minimum pedestrian charge $54, minimum auto charge $127.

Seward-Valdez (autos): through Prince William Sound; connections to SR 9 and SR 4 (Richardson Highway); M/V Tustumena; 11 hr (at least twice a month); minimum pedestrian charge $58, minimum auto charge $126.

Valdez-Cordova (autos): through Prince William Sound; connections to SR 4 (Richardson Highway) and SR 10 (Copper River Highway); M/V Bartlett; 5 hr 30 min (at least twice a week); minimum pedestrian charge $30, minimum auto charge $69.

Valdez-Tatitlek-Cordova (no autos?): through Prince William Sound; M/V Bartlett; (available only on request, once a week)
