Bridgeport Ferry: Crosses Tennessee River southeast of Bridgeport on CR 91; 0.4 mile; To reach from US 72: In Bridgeport, go northeast on Broadway, southeast on 8th St., east on Gothard Ave., and south on Ferry Rd.; To reach from SR 156 in Tennessee: Just west of Nickajack Lake, turn south on Hogjaw Rd., which becomes CR 91. Apparently ferry shut down between 1987 and 1997, according to county maps; still shown on 2000 state map. (Jackson County)

Davis Ferry: Crosses Alabama River, on CR 40 between Franklin and Packards Bend; weekdays only, 7am-4pm; free; no trailers or RVs; 0.1 mile; To reach from SR 5: At Sunny South, go south on CR 1, turn southeast on CR 40 after Lower Peach Tree, continue beyond Packards Bend; To reach from SR 41: Turn west on CR 27 north of Franklin, then turn northwest to Haines Island Park; county operated. Ellis (Gee's Bend) Ferry?: Across Alabama River (William "Bill" Dannelly Reservoir) between Camden and Boykin (and other Gee's Bend communities); ferry discontinued in 1970s, but scheduled to be reinstated; photographs of old ferry. (Wilcox County)

Hokes Bluff Ferry: Across Coosa River (H. Neely Henry Lake), just west of Hokes Bluff; not operating when visited in June 2001. Apparently ferry shut down between 1992 and 1999.

Mobile Bay Ferry: Across Pelican Bay (Mobile Bay entrance), between Fort Morgan (SR 180) and Fort Gaines/Dauphin Island (CR 2); daily except Christmas; car and driver $8, pedestrian $1; 3 miles; Departs from Ft. Morgan at 8:45, 10:15, 11:45, 1:15, 2:45, 4:15, 5:45 and 7:15; departs from Dauphin Island at 8, 9:30, 11, 12:30, 2, 3:30, 5 and 6:30; To reach Fort Gaines: From SR 193, go east on CR 2/Bienville Blvd.; M/V Fort Morgan. Dauphin Island ferry (autos): Discontinued in 1955; temporary passenger ferry to/from Bayout La Batre from 1979-1982; across Mississippi Sound, from mainland to Dauphin Island.

Mims Ferry (autos): Discontinued after 1975?; crossed Coosa River on CR 55 between Clanton and Weogufka. (Chilton and Coosa Counties)
